Master's Message October 2022

Brethren,

If you didn't make it to the September meeting then you missed a heck of a night.

East Bay DDGM, RW Eric Grist and his Marshal W John Kent visited the lodge and were treated to a full evening.

Our newest member, Ryan McCauley, returned his MM proficiency in flawless perfection to the absolute delight of everyone. Ryan is a third generation member of Adelphoi #33 and we're all very excited to count him among our membership.

As you know our focus on charity this year has been the distribution of reader spec eyeglasses to communities around the entire jurisdiction. As one of the first orders of business, RW Ed Kdonian went before the lodge and gave a full explanation of the origin of the charity, the source of the eyeglasses and our expectations for the future as we continue to provide this real world help to the community in need. Until now the Adelphoi officers have been the ones primarily distributing these reader spec eyeglasses free to businesses and organizations but that night we had several large boxes containing many hundreds of glasses that were taken by other members and guests who knew of even more locations where we could reach those who need help.

Following RW Ed's presentation describing our charitable efforts we were treated to a program put on by members of RI Shrine. Brothers Nick Oliver, Mike Brito and Dave Graham presented a slideshow highlighting who the Shriners are, what the Shriners do, where they work, who they help and their future plans to all in attendance.

In keeping with tradition, all Brothers who have never visited Adelphoi Lodge before were brought before the East and presented with first time visitor pins. I hope they wear them with pride and visit often.

Our October meeting will be held on October 4th. Please come and invite any members who you haven't seen in a while to come with you.

Also remember, on November 1 we will be hosting a Rusty Apron night presented be RWDGM Doug Grant. This is a refresher of all the basics of blue lodge masonry that we've learned and often forgotten. It'll be a lot of fun.

I can't wait to see you all in lodge.

Fraternally,
W:. Bill Gervais
