Happy Spring! I hope that everyone has weathered the winter well and are getting ready for the spring air to arrive. As all of you are probably aware, we are beginning the Entered Apprentice Degree for three new candidates and I would like to thank all of the brethren that have been working to ensure the degree is conducted in an exemplary manner.
As many of you know, my days have been very full with my rather large family, work, school, and working at my new house for the past five months to try and get my family in before Easter. I would like to thank all of you that have been able to represent Adelphoi on my behalf at different events, I can’t say thank you enough.
Additionally, I’d like to just touch upon the tremendous assistance that many brethren have provided, and continue to provide, with helping me try to complete the work on my house in order to finally get my family moved in. Your assistance, dedication, and friendship amazes me and if I could say thank you every day for the next 10 years, it would not be enough to show you how much my family and I appreciate all you have done and continue to do. Years ago I lost my brother to illness. While I was at his wake, one of his friends came up to me and told me that my brother had been a lucky man, so I asked him, “How so?” He told me that my brother was a very lucky man because he was blessed when it came to friends. He stated that though my brother did not have many friends, the friends he had were the greatest of friends. My brother knew that the amount of friends that a person had really doesn’t matter when compared to the quality of friends someone has. So, when it comes to friends even though my brother was a very lucky man, I think I am luckier by the fact that I am part of the greatest fraternity in the world and am also blessed with the greatest of friends and brethren. At the end of each night, when my friends and brethren are leav-ing my house, tired and filthy from all the work they did, I always think of the words of my brother’s friend and realize that I am just as lucky, if not luckier to have the greatest of friends. Thank you!
