Masters Message January 2017

Greetings Brethren,

As I finish writing this, my last communication as the Worshipful Master of Adelphoi Lodge 33, I can’t help but to think how thankful and blessed I have been, not only in becoming a member of this lodge, but also to have had the honor and privilege of having served as the Master of this fantastic lodge.  I truly and sincerely thank you all so very much, for your support, patience, and friendship. I would like to thank everyone for all of their support and guidance this past year, especially those that represented me and the Lodge at so many other functions.

I would also commend all the brethren who pulled together to put on a magnificent Master Mason Degree at the December monthly meeting.  I’d especially like to thank Mark, Dane, Dave, Milton, Pat, Lance, Bill, Ed, and of course Charlie for all of the hard work that made the night a success.  Charlie, you truly are an inspiration.  I’d also like to thank Most Worshipful Ray Hassle and RW DDGM Doug Grant for your assistance in the Degree.  It was an honor to have the both of you assisting us!

At the December meeting, we handed out our annual awards, which also included a new award.  The new award was created in the name of Brother John Takian and the award is the “Brother John Takian Humanitarian Award,” to honor all of the good that Brother Takian has dedicated his to doing.  Then first two recipients of that award were W:. Whip Crossman and W:. Tom Kennedy.  Other awards presented that evening were Brother Milton Kaiser for ritualistic excellence in 2016 and R:.W:. Mark Peterson for recognition of his continuous excellence in ritual work.  Brother Pat Diminico received the award for Meritorious Service to the Lodge for all the work he does assisting fellow members.  Last, but not least, Brother Pat Paolo received the Mason of the Year Award for all that he has done, not only this Lodge, but for Freemasonry as a whole.  Great job by all.  Thank you.

In closing, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.  As I think all of you have realized by now, I like to add meaningful quotes in my communications, so I will finish with this quote by Stephen M. Wolf:“

Each of us can look back upon someone who made a great difference in our lives, someone whose wisdom or simple acts of caring made an impression upon us. In all likelihood it was someone who sought no recognition for their deed other than the joy of knowing that, by their hand, another’s life had been made better.”

Thank you and God Bless!

Brother Raymond J. Blinn
Presiding Master
